Anatomical Society of India was established in 1951 in Calcutta (West Bengal), and is the professional domicile of Anatomist of India. It provides a platform for exchange of advancements in the scientific development & research in the field of Anatomy and allied sciences among the anatomist along with advancement in teaching and training of undergraduate and Post graduate students.

With the advancing time and grater use of Information technology & better means of communication the society has grown multi fold and witnessed a surge of activities. Presently membership of society has crossed 2500 mark. To honour the stalwarts, Fellowship and Life time achievement award were instituted and to encourage the young, upcoming & promising Anatomist Oration and many awards in the field of scientific development in Anatomy were added.

Vision of Anatomical Society of India is to generate scientific exchange & development in field of anatomy among the members of society.

Mission of Anatomical Society of India is to encourage young anatomist & provide better platform for growth in the teaching, learning and research with ethical values .

To expand the Society beyond geographical boundaries by greater participation with international federations and Societies of Anatomist.
